YfEj - Relocation to the host country

Do you want to relocate to another EU country, Norway or Iceland where you have found a job with a minimum of 6 month duration? With "Your first EURES job", receive financial support for your relocation costs.

Financial support is provided to contribute to removal costs, including accommodation costs and travel insurance, incurred in connection with your relocation to the destination country.

The amount of support is a flat-rate sum and varies between €635 and €1,400, according to the country of destination.

Am I eligible?

  • You are aged 18-35.
  • You are a citizen of a European Union country, Iceland or Norway and resident in one of these countries.
  • You are registered with an Employment Service.
  • You have applied for a job of at least 6 month duration* in one of the European Union countries, Iceland or Norway other than your country of residence.
  • You have not already received financial support from your employer for your relocation.

* The working time for this job is at least 50% of the applicable weekly working time.

How do I apply?

Before the date you take up your post, simply send the following to the Administrative services:

  • the allowance application form, duly completed;
  • all required supporting documents mentioned on the form.

NB: Cross-border work (daily or weekly travel between the country where the place of work is located and the country of residence) is excluded from the programme.

Checklist

Scan the following documents (preferably in PDF format) and send them to the Administrative services:

Before taking up the job:

  • allowance application form duly completed and signed;
  • employment contract confirming the employment conditions (type of contract, duration, duties, wages, etc.);
  • proof of address in the departure country;
  • identity document (national identity card or passport);
  • bank account details (IBAN with BIC/SWIFT code).

And in the 15 days following the start date:

  • certificate of employment duly completed and signed.

The "Your first EURES job" programme covers:

  • the 28 EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.

  • + Iceland and Norway.
