YfEj – The job interview

Do you have a job interview in one of the 28 European Union countries, Norway or Iceland? With "Your first EURES job", receive financial support for your travel expenses.

Financial support is provided for you to travel to a job interview in another EU country, Iceland or Norway, if you have been invited by an employer.

The amount of support varies from €100 to €350 depending on the distance.

You can also receive a financial contribution if the interview is in your country of residence (e.g. job fairs, international recruitment) for a job offered in another EU country, Iceland or Norway.

Am I eligible?

  • You are aged 18-35.
  • You are a citizen of a European Union country, Iceland or Norway and resident in one of these countries.
  • You are registered with an Employment Service.
  • You have applied for a job of at least 6 month duration* in one of the European Union countries, Iceland or Norway other than your country of residence.
  • You have not already received financial support from a potential employer to enable you to travel to the interview.

* The working time for this job is at least 50% of the applicable weekly working time.

How do I apply?

Before the date of the job interview, simply send the following to the Administrative services:

  • the allowance application form, duly completed;
  • all required supporting documents mentioned on the form.

NB: If you are unable to attend the job interview, you should inform the Administrative services in the 2 days following the interview date. You will be obliged to reimburse the aid provided if your reasons are not legally justifiable.

Think about an online interview! Your first interview with a prospective employer can be online. For a video conference you need an internet connection and a webcam.

On Emploi Store, you can access e-services which provide information, test your knowledge and validate your international professional project.


Scan the following documents (preferably in PDF format) and send them to the Administrative services:

Before the interview:

  • allowance application form duly completed and signed;
  • invitation from the employer confirming the date and place of the interview;
  • proof of address in the departure country;
  • travel documents or reservation;
  • identity document (national identity card or passport);
  • bank account details (IBAN with BIC/SWIFT code).

And in the 15 days following the interview:

  • certificate of attendance duly completed and signed.
